Do I have to book through a host?
Yes! This is a curated group experience, so you must book through one of our amazing travel hosts. This ensures you're part of the group activities, get all the special perks, and can participate in everything we have planned. Plus, your host will be your go-to person for any questions or help you need before and during the trip!
What's the deposit amount?
The deposit is $50 per person to secure your spot (unless Carnival is running a special promotion that offers a different deposit amount). This gets you locked in, and then you can work with your host on a payment plan that works for your budget. We offer FlexPay options too!
Can I do just the land portion or just the cruise?
Absolutely! You can choose:
- Land Only: 2 days in New Orleans
- Sea Only: Just the 4-day cruise
- BOTH: The complete experience (most popular!)
That said, we HIGHLY recommend doing both for the full experience! You'll get to know your cruise family better, explore an amazing city together, and then sail off into the sunset. It's the ultimate way to maximize your memories!
When will the hotel be announced?
Great question! Since we're booking for May 2027, hotels don't allow group bookings this far in advance. We'll announce the hotel as soon as we can secure group rates (typically 12-18 months before travel). Your host will notify you immediately when hotel booking opens!
Are payment plans available?
Yes! We offer multiple payment options:
- Pay in full anytime
- Create your own payment schedule
- FlexPay (powered by Uplift) - monthly payment plans with approval
Your host will work with you to find a payment plan that fits your budget. The goal is to make this trip accessible and stress-free!

Do I need a passport?
Highly recommended but not required! Since this is a "closed loop" cruise (departs and returns to same U.S. port), U.S. citizens can cruise with a birth certificate and government-issued ID. However, we STRONGLY recommend a passport for these reasons:
- Required if you need to fly home from a foreign port (medical emergency, etc.)
- Makes going through customs much faster
- Valid for future travel adventures
Can I bring my kids/family?
Of course! This is a family-friendly adventure! Kids and families are absolutely welcome. The Carnival Dream has tons of activities for all ages, including kids' clubs, family pools, and entertainment for everyone. Many cabins can accommodate 3-4 people, making it perfect for families. Plus, kids often get great rates!
What if I'm traveling solo?
Solo travelers are welcome! This is actually a PERFECT trip for solo travelers because you'll have a built-in travel family! You'll meet amazing people during the New Orleans portion and on the cruise. We can help you find a roommate to split costs, or you can book your own cabin. Either way, you won't feel alone - we've got you!
When is final payment due?
Final payment is typically due 90 days before sailing (around mid-February 2027). However, the earlier you pay, the better! Your host will keep you updated on all payment deadlines and work with you every step of the way.
Should I get travel insurance?
We HIGHLY recommend it! Travel insurance protects your investment if unexpected things happen (illness, family emergencies, travel delays, etc.). Your host can provide information about travel insurance options. For the best coverage, especially for pre-existing conditions, purchase within 14-21 days of your initial deposit.
Will there be group activities?
Absolutely! Your hosts have amazing group activities planned including:
- New Orleans city exploration together
- Welcome parties and meet & greets
- Group dinners and sail away celebrations
- On-board group activities and games
- Photo ops and content creation moments
All activities are optional - join what interests you, skip what doesn't. This is YOUR vacation!
